Sports Awareness For Educating Today's Youth

In order to be eligible for the civil immunity protection provided by the Little Legue Law (2A:62A-6) volumnteer coaches are required to attend a "safety orientation and training skills program." The Rutgers S.A.F.E.T.Y. Clinic is based upon the "Minimum Standards for Volunteer Coaches Safety Orientation and Training Skills Programs" (N.J.A.C. 5:52) and has been tested in court as having met the standards.

Volunteer coaches who attend this program receive:

  • Way To Go Coach (pp. 200) custom edition text
  • The Coaches Reference Manual (3rd Edition)
  • The S.A.F.E.T.Y. certification card
  • The S.A.F.E.T.Y. Clinic patch
  • Permanent registration with Youth Sports Research Council

Completion of the Rutgers S.A.F.E.T.Y. course is mandatory for all HYAA coaches and assistant coaches. Coaches are advised to reserve a spot as early as possible to avoid being closed out. There is no guarantee of a spot at the door. Fill out the registration form below to reserve your spot.
